We had Greg's mom stay with us for a week during Graduation season. She was able to fly in from Arizona and stay with us while she was here. Many things were happening as she stayed. The weather was not the greatest but on a few days. Our day scheduled for the zoo ended up being canceled and a trip to Toys R Us took its place. She was able to see one of Jon's baseball games, visit with many friends, watch the kids play in the yard, and throw an early surprise 40th birthday party for Greg. Her main purpose was our nephew, Jacob's graduation. We enjoyed having her stay with us and look forward to her next visit.

UP~in 3D
We took the kids to see the movie "UP" on Sunday afternoon and it just happened to be in 3-D. Here we are sporting our lovely specs! I had to take a picture of us. It sure does beat the old paper 3-D glasses! The kids and Greg & I enjoyed the movie. Really good family friendly flick with a great story. I was amused to watch Jon try to touch the things that appeared to be floating towards him.
Toadus Croakus the 3rd
Yes, you guessed it! We now have a pet Toad compliments of Hope. She found it in Meme & Poppy's window well and thought she had to rescue it. It does live outside in our window well. Toadus obviously had to come into my kitchen for the photo op. I, being unaware of this, have since banished him to be completely outdoors never to frequent my african violet again. Hope introduced Toadus to our dog, Abby. She was not impressed by him nor did she mind his presence upon her head. That picture is being sent to the "Ranger Rick" magazine. Hope thinks it should be published! Rightfully so! What dog in their right mind would grace the presence of a toad on their head. She just stood there! Like...take the picture already!
Toadus does not croak, and was found on the 3rd of June, hence the name of our noble toad!
Sunburst June 6, 2009
On Saturday, we were involved in walking the Sunburst 5K in South Bend. We joined a bunch of friends and a whole lot of strangers, starting at the Football Hall of Fame and making our journey to the University of Notre Dame Stadium. It was a beautiful day for walking! The sun was out bright and the temperature was perfect. We made it! Jonathan suffered a bad case of shin splints but he managed to pull it off! Way to go, buddy! Next year we may try to run it......or continue with what we know works, walking.
